Exante’s Desktop and Mobile Platforms
Exante’s downloadable trading platform is available for both desktop and website operating systems. This includes applications for Windows, MacOS, Linus, iOS, and Android devices. Additionally, Exante is also available on the App Store and Google Play. This makes the trading platform incredibly flexible and versatile, and traders can access it on the go no matter where they are and what time it is, so long as they have a good internet connection and an electronic device.
All versions of Exante’s trading platform contain robust features such as an account’s balance, trade activity, real-time market data, position overview, a bond screener, an overview of transaction history, and more.In order to gain access to the trading platform, you will have to register an account with Exante, or else you cannot make use of the trading platform. Exante also automatically provides a demo account for traders when they register with the investment firm.
The good thing about Exante’s downloadable trading platforms is that the terminal updates automatically. This means each time a trader launches the terminal, it will automatically check the server for any updates available. The application will then update without traders needing to manually download the new version. When the update becomes available, traders will then see a window suggesting a reboot of the terminal.
If you are worried about the safety and privacy of your personal information, then do not fear, Exante has that covered too. Exante’s trading platform has introduced the Touch ID functionality that is available for Mac users. That said, not every Mac device supports Touch ID. So, if your device does not have it, this option will unfortunately not appear in the menu.
Basic Settings
Exante’s trading platform allows for some basic customisation and personalisation through its Settings menu. This is located at the bottom left corner of the application, in the toolbar. It is also possible to open the Settings menu from the top toolbar, by clicking on the Help button and selecting Settings from the drop-down menu.
For instance, through Settings, traders can select and change the language of the platform. They can choose between English, German, Russian, French, Spanish, Italian, Polish, Chinese Simplified and Traditional, as well as Thai. There is even an Auto option, which means that the language of the platform will automatically change to follow the language of your operating system. This is fantastic for people whose first language may not be included in the above language options.
Traders can also change their default currency in the trading platform. This is done by clicking on Displayed Currency. Some of the currencies you can pick are EUR, USD, AUD< CAD, CHK, HKD, JPY, SGD, GBP, and more.
Other things that can be tweaked to suit each individual trade include the time zone – if it differs from your automatic computer setup, the colour scheme – whether it is a light or dark theme, the show order confirmations, show tips at startup and highlight active modules options.
If you tick the show tips at startup option, traders will automatically receive a new technical tip about how to use the platform every time they log in. This is a fantastic tool, especially for beginners and novice traders. If a trader picks the show order confirmations, they can receive notifications upon completed orders, letting them know which trades have done well. If they tick the highlight active modules, each time a trader selects a module that is already open, the active module will light up as an indication, making it a lot clearer to traders.
Charts
Exante provides a robust Chart for traders to better visualise and gain an overview of their trading progress. It updates in real-time and shows current market quotes. Traders can further customise their charts, including the aggregation interval and timeframes (such as ticks, minutes, hours, and days), the data on bid/ask prices or trades and volumes, the chart style (whether they want candlesticks, OHLC bars or lines), and even the drawing colours.
Traders can even configure the way the chart looks. This means choosing whether or not to show features such as orders, trades, position and average price, price alerts, anti-aliasing, and more. This helps to make the charts less overwhelming, especially for beginner traders.
A unique thing about Exante is that it allows traders to collaborate by creating sharable links to charts. This can be done by right-clicking anywhere on the chart and clicking on Share Link at the bottom of the dropdown menu. Afterwards, a deep link is automatically created and copied to the clipboard. This deep link contains information on the instrument, stock exchange, and time frame. If the receiving person has not installed the trading platform, the link can still be opened in the web browser.
Instruments
All ofExante’sinstruments available are located in the Instruments panel and grouped by type. The types of colour coded, meaning you can easily filter any instruments that you wish to see. You can also navigate the Instruments tree by expanding its branches, or you can simply type in the instrument’s name, ticker, Exchange, ISIN or FIGI in the search bar to quickly find it. Exante prides itself on allowing its clients direct access to over 50 markets, with over 600,000 financial instruments.
If you are not sure about an Instrument, you can simply right-click and find Instrument Info. As its name suggests, Instrument Info details nearly everything about an instrument. This includes data on its description, unit, stamp duty, levy fee, lot size, type, currency, deliverable, short position, required margin, and more. You can also see its underlying asset, expiry date, overnight rates, leverage rate and concentration rate. This is especially important if you often use margin trading – you must pay attention to the instrument’s leverage rate, concentration rate and required margin.
